摘要:
Majusculamide-o, a simplified analog of a marine natural product, has been synthesized and shown to exhibit potent cytotoxic effects against various metastatic cancer cell lines, including ovarian, pancreatic, and glioblastoma cancers. The compound demonstrates a significant preference for targeting metastatic cells, with low nanomolar IC50 values. Mechanistic studies reveal that maj-o induces apoptosis and alters gene expression related to critical cancer pathways such as PI3K-Akt and Hippo. This research highlights the potential of maj-o as a lead compound for developing new anti-cancer therapies.
